True Access Captioning (TAC) is a woman-owned business and has over a dozen experienced and qualified writers available on any given day. The writers are located across all times zones of the United States. TAC utilizes only certified and highly qualified CART/Captioning providers, known as writers, that have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the industry. All writers collaborating with TAC must hold certifications in good standing from NCRA, the regulating and certifying association for Court Reporters and CART/Captioning providers and have maintained the requisite 30 hours of CEU per cycle.

Jane Piles graduated from Washburn University in 1991 with a degree in Court Reporting. In 1999, Jane decided to open her own company and began taking on broadcast contracts with a vast client load that kept her very busy. Since that time, she has worked providing captions to major network news markets; talk shows; business platforms, including Fortune 500 companies; universities including Ivy League schools and medical schools; G-8 Summits; top secret medical and pharmaceutical research projects; a Presidential Inauguration address; Federal and District Court systems, including Supreme Court and Court of Appeals; State of the Union addresses; sporting events; COVID pandemic national press conferences; and everything in between. While not working in the Unites States Jane has traveled worldwide captioning in-person events which include Spain, Honduras and Mexico. Jane credits much of her success by surrounding herself with a team of writers that are reliable, driven, and have a tremendous knowledge of the captioning software they use. She stays abreast of the ever-changing technology the captioning industry is faced with on a daily basis. Jane is proud of her uncanny ability to troubleshoot and solve the challenges that arise when new platforms and technologies are released and how to integrate captioning for all to have true access to the spoken word.

Dana Bostian graduated from the American Institute of Business in 1989 with a degree in court reporting. After being a freelance court reporter for many years, she established Bostian Captioning Services, Inc. in 2007, and she hasn’t looked back. Dana was only one of a handful of broadcast captioners in the United States working remotely in the late 90s; therefore, she has had vast experience in the industry providing captioning for national/local news broadcasts such as MSNBC, Fox News as well as nationally syndicated talk shows, presidential addresses, earnings calls for Fortune 500 companies, and other projects too numerous to mention. Captioning became essential after events such as the 9/11 attacks, the war on terrorism and during COVID. Dana considers herself fortunate to be able to provide captioning services to the deaf and hard of hearing during those difficult times as well as during severe weather outbreaks and other natural disasters. Dana has pivoted to also providing CART services for the court system including Supreme Court and Court of Appeals Oral Arguments, global seminars for worldwide companies, veterans events, universities, graduation ceremonies and captioning all types of sports coverage including the Olympics, Tour de France, golf tournaments and any other sport from bull riding to bowling. Dana knows that being successful means working together with others in the captioning field to give everyone true access to the spoken word.

Together, Jane and Dana handle scheduling of all events and provide any technical assistance needed for setup and smooth captioning outcome. Collectively, along side Jane and Dana, all the writers working with the TAC have experience providing CART/captioning services on-site and remotely worldwide on an ongoing basis for federal, state and local governments; Fortune 500 companies; G8 summits; universities; medical students; Rhodes and Marshall Scholar programs; professional conferences with subjects including medical, scientific, law, governmental agency
meetings, trainings, caucuses, continuing education seminars; financial calls; breaking news and weather events; along with endless hours of press coverage during the 9/11 attacks; the wars that followed; and the COVID pandemic.
